there are no coincidences

A man once told a woman that there are no coincidences…
The woman’s ever romantic nature refused to accept it…
She may not see the world through rose tinted glasses,
But knew that happenstance was the only quirk of fate she did believe in.
The man true to his ancestors hemmed, hawwed and smirked while doling out logical analyses to his theory,
The woman brushed them off with her gems in return, non-plussed at his zeal to prove himself right.
Then many moons later she thought back to that evening,
When the debate had arisen during the course of a drive,
Wryly smiled to herself thinking,
That probably that was the only one time in their relationship that he ever was right.
