Turning a Corner

I turned a corner yesterday,

and saw that I had stepped into white quicksand.

It sucked me in deep,

it sucked in the fight of my soul,

it sucked in the spirit of my heart,

I had indeed turned a corner.

I turned a corner yesterday,

and found myself snatched away by currents snaking around my body,

they held me in a vice-like grip,

the force which was taking me far away,

was stronger than the most ultimate strength itself.

I had indeed turned a corner.

I turned a corner yesterday,

and was blinded with white light,

and went deaf with white noise,

and went mute with white fear.

I had indeed turned a corner.

Now I choose to stay.

To remain where I am.

I have cast myself into solid stone.

The marble of my own choice.

Cold and immobile.

Turning a corner is no more for me.
